YOUR FILES ARE YOURS

A little more about privacy.

Layer’s currently available PDF tools process your files in your browser, on your device.

Your files

When you use an available Layer tool, the file you choose is read by your browser and processed on your device. The PDF tools do not upload your selected files to a Layer server. The result is generated in your browser so you can download it directly.

Your choices

You choose which files to open and when to download a result. Your original files are not changed by the tools. You can remove a selected file from the workspace before processing it.

Your account

If you choose to create an account, your name and sign-in details are handled by the Supabase project configured for Layer. Email, Google, and phone sign-in may also involve the identity or messaging providers you choose. Supabase’s browser client keeps the session needed to keep you signed in. Account information is separate from the PDF files you process; Layer does not keep a history of those files.

Tools in development

Tools marked “Coming soon” are not available yet. If a future tool works differently or needs additional information, its page should explain that before you use it.

This page describes how the currently available, browser-based PDF tools handle files. It is not legal advice.
